“Photographers deal in things which are continually vanishing and when they have vanished there is no contrivance on earth which can make them come back again.”

– Henri Cartier-Bresson

Weddings

There’s nothing quite like a Tucson Wedding! The beautiful Tucson weather, joyous atmosphere and close family bonds create an atmosphere of love that can be felt by even me, the observer. I spend a lot of my time blending in and looking for the “in-between” moments, otherwise unnoticed or unseen. My camera is always at my eye, and the experience of 150+ weddings typically helps put me in the right place and the right time.

  • Evan was not only an amazing photographer but so friendly and accommodating for our unique wedding needs. Our wedding photos are amazing and really capture how magical the wedding was for us. 100 % recommended!!

  • Evan was absolutely awesome. He had soo many great ideas for pictures, but also let us give our own ideas for some nice shots. He made the picture portion of our wedding go very smooth and we are grateful. We recommended him to a coworker who is also getting married at Saguaro Buttes.

  • We love Evan and would highly recommend his services to anyone! He captured our wedding beautifully. We could not be happier with our experience and our photos.

Engagements

There is no better way to feel at ease about your wedding day photography experience than to do a practice run. I include an engagement session in all but my base wedding photography package for this very reason. Engagement sessions are casual, fun, and active. We spend a couple hours bouncing between a few beautiful outdoor locations in the best light of the day, finishing up right around (or just after) sunset. We explore, chasing the light, and creating pieces of art that you might just want displayed at your wedding (or, hopefully, on the walls in your home).

  • Evan did such a great job with our engagement photos and our wedding photos. He really brought out the best moments at our wedding!

  • Evan did a fantastic job with our photography for both our wedding and our engagement session. For our engagement session we really wanted to take our photographs at an old cowtown that was special to both of us and Evan was willing to drive an hour outside of the city to make that wish come true.

  • Evan was amazing! He was very professional. He was a lot of fun to work with and our engagement pictures were gorgeous. We haven’t gotten our wedding pictures yet (its only been a week) but I know they will be amazing!

Families

Family sessions are such a blast! I love meeting new families and capturing their unique dynamic with fun, active shots. Posing is always natural and minimal, and focused on the best light and compositions.

  • It was great meeting Evan today for our family photo shoot!!! Mt Lemmon is a beautiful backdrop. Evan it was pleasure to work with you. You made us feel so comfortable. Thank you so much!!! Will definitely call on you in the future.

  • I can’t recommend Evan enough. Not only does he have an incredible eye and is highly skilled at capturing natural shots, but I think his secret sauce is the positive energy he carries with him. I think that energy truly brings out the best in people, so that he is able to capture some amazing shots. Evan has photographed our family twice; once with our greater extended family and once with just our family of four. His calm, laid back, and playful demeanor lends to the perfect setting for photos with kids. I’m looking forward to many more sessions in the years to come with this fantastic photographer!

Grads

Whether graduating from high school or earning a degree in higher education, this is a huge and important moment in your life. Senior portrait sessions are super fun and relaxed, outdoors, in the best light of the day.

  • Great experience working with Evan. Made us all feel comfortable and more than willing to go the extra mile to get a great shot.

Maternity & Newborns

Being pregnant is unforgettable for so many reasons. I like to capture family connections during these sessions in a way that brings you back to the happiest moments. Newborn photo shoots are done in the comfort of your home as opposed to packing up the family to come to a studio. The results in a more relaxed feeling during the shoot and more genuine images.

  • Evan is simply the best. So professional, skilled, incredibly nice, and has a way of putting you at ease during photo shoots. He’s captured all of our biggest milestones, including engagement, wedding, maternity, and now our family. And he will continue to be our go-to guy for all our future photography needs!

  • Evan has done photos for us 3 times now and each time we love the pictures more than the last! He is great with kids and so creative. We will use him for years to come

  • We’ve worked with Evan several times now – beginning with our wedding 4 years ago to our family photos and most recently our son’s baptism. He is our go to guy and we are never disappointed. He has a beautiful style and is incredibly professional. He manages to take incredible pictures and I don’t ever remember seeing him snapping those pics! His candids are phenomenal but our posed family photographs are truly spectacular. He works with his environment and is incredibly patient (esp. with our little wiggly baby who decides to take naps in the middle of a photo shoot). We highly recommend Evan and his services!

FAQ

Do you offer other types of shoots? What other services do you offer?

Although I specialize in weddings and portraits, I have also done captured graduations, baptisms, corporate events, anniversary celebrations, vow renewals, birthday parties, bar-mitzvahs, and quinceañeras. I also offer website photography, product photography, and real estate photography. If you have something in mind you would like to capture, let’s talk!

Do you offer prints and albums in addition to the USB flash drive included with your packages?

Yes! Custom albums are available in a variety of sizes and styles. I’d love to show you some samples and talk about creating something tangible, beautiful, and timeless with your photographs. Something of such quality that it will be passed down for generations. Prints of any size or medium are available. I use only pro labs with years of experience in color correction and print quality. I am fully in charge of quality control and everything passes through my hands before being delivered. A 16×20 gallery wrapped print is included in every wedding package. If
it’s too hard to pick one image, this can be substituted for a credit towards a print package of equal value.

Do you offer a 2nd photographer?

Yes! A second photographer may be necessary depending on your wedding day plans. Although my experience tends to put me in the right place at the right time, I realize there are sometimes important moments happening in different places simultaneously. I work with a select few experienced professionals with styles and approach similar to mine. If you think you might need a 2nd photographer, let’s talk!

How would you describe your style?

Yes! Custom albums are available in a variety of sizes and styles. I’d love to show To describe my overall style and approach, these words come to mind: natural, genuine, minimalist, real, semi-traditional. I prefer and mostly make use of natural light, but occasionally use off-camera flash to enhance an image. I focus on correct exposure and good composition for a timeless look, rather than a dark (moody) or too bright (airy) look. My approach is semi-traditional in that while the majority of the day is captured without interference, I do give direction and pose couples and groups during the designated time for those shots.

What kind of equipment do you use?

After trying the different brands of professional cameras, I settled with Cannon Cameras and L series prime lenses for their light sensitivity (wide apertures), unbeatable sharpness, and contrast. I carry two camera bodies and several prime lenses. My favorites are the 35mm F1.4L, 50mm F1.2L, and 135mm F2.0L. Inside each of my caress are two memory cards, each containing a copy of every photo I take. Have a corrupt or defective memory card is very rare, and having two virtually eliminates the risk of losing images due to a corrupt memory card.

Do you have backup equipment?

Absolutely. For every shoot, I carry two camera bodies and several lenses. Inside each camera there are two memory cards, making identical copies of every photo I take. I also carry backup flash and lighting equipment, around 200GB in memory cards, and way more batteries than I need.

Do you offer discounts?

Yes! A 10% discount goes to our heroes that have served in the military, selfless and undervalued educators, and those who serve us as first-responders. This discount is my way of thanking those who put others first and foremost in their careers.

What happens if you get very sick or have an emergency and can’t make it to the wedding?

In the event of an emergency, injury, or illness, I rely on the large, talented community of professional wedding photographers in Tucson, who “have each others’ backs”. There are a select few whose styles are similar to my own, and I would approach them first to check availability. In the event none of those are available, I would make sure someone is there to capture the day. All that being said, I’ve been extremely fortunate to have never been unable to attend and capture a wedding in my 10 year career.

I’m not photogenic/I hate having photos taken of myself, but I know I would regret not having a wedding photographer. How do you approach photographing people like me?

My preference is for active, natural posing that allows for a lot of interaction between a couple while they’re being photographed. For the majority of a wedding day, I try to blend in and go unnoticed. This helps with capturing a lot of candid genuine smiles and real emotion from interaction with friends and family. Engagement sessions are a great trial run before the wedding day, allowing us to get to know each other and give you an idea of how relaxed and fun it is working with me. 🙂

Are retainers refundable?

Unfortunately if a wedding is cancelled, retainers are non-refundable. Since a retainer reserves a specific full day, I often turn away potential clients inquiring about the same date. In the event of a cancellation, the retainer only partially reimburses me for this loss. Date changes are more flexible, and handled on a case-by-case basis. If I am available for the new date and have not turned away any potential clients for the old one, I can usually simply change the booking. If a date is changed and I am unavailable for the new date, the retainer cannot be refunded. If I am available for the new date but have turned away work for the old one, a partial or full refund of the retainer may be considered.
